The Zombie

Ahem, ahem.. :)

Hi there, gentle reader. How have you been? Wow! It's been so long since I have come to this-side-of-my-world. I forgot how it even feels like. Um, boy, the past few months have been... refreshingly good! Just the way I've always wanted my life to be. Wake up late -> Off to work in the noon -> Slog hard at work -> Return home by night -> Sit on the bean bag, play video games or play with your pet -> Eat the food you like and where you like at (everyday) -> And have fun (loads of it) on the weekends.

And that's exactly what I have been doing these past few months - Uh, well, except for that bean bag, pet and video games part. I have replaced that part with some other interesting things which I will share some other day. Hopefully, some day that bean bag, video games and playing with pet part will also happen.

I'd love to tell you all about the fun things I have done so far here. But, I have been having such a good time that I don't know where to start. Let's just say that I did not, at any point, want to come write something here (That's a good thing, right?). I just wanted (want) to live life. It is that good. :) For the first in all my life, I haven't missed my home and my family. Can you believe it? I hadn't gone home for a weekend in the first two months. And that says volumes about how much I am liking my life now. I want to be like this - Carefree, traveling, aimless,... "Whoa! Enough with your gloating", you say? Uh, okay, you don't have to be so mean.

Okay, so clearly, you are wondering why I am here at this ungodly hour if I was having such a good time, eh? Well, I am getting there. I have got plans for tomorrow, the weekend. And I need to wake up at 5am to start with those plans. And I am not an early morning person. At all. Heck! I am so sure that I will not wake up that I decided to stay awake all night long. So, in such an attempt to stay awake, here I come, dear reader.

Then, what's with the title of the post, you ask? Ah, that. That has a very special connection. It is actually picked from a song. A song that I like a lot and might never forget. Okay, so, there's this place called Cafe Toon, sort of a pub in a basement at M.G.Road. If you are in Pune and happen to be in or around M.G.Road then ensure that you visit this place. I have never been a fan of pubs or discotheques, myself. For I don't take alcohol and neither am I a fan of dancing, so I never saw a point. And even to this day, choose to stay away from such crowded places. But this place was different. I am a fan of rock music. And this is where you should be if you are anything like me and around M.G.Road.

On a lively Friday night, I went there. Great music, chilled beer, hot chicken and even hotter girls - the ambience was just electrifying. We all had a great time. It was almost the closing time then. I could see people were tired by then and I figured, soon, people might leave. But, suddenly, this song started in the background. And I could hear a group of people singing the song along. One of them was this girl. She was very pretty. She wore a dress, a long one. White and baby pink colored, it was. Long, loose hair. Sharp features (Well, it was pretty dark and gloomy there, so I cannot vouch on her "sharp" features). She was singing the song very intensely. Not bothered about any of us around. And the song is The Cranberries - Zombie

She and her friends were so lost in the song that in no time, I saw that all the others had joined them and sang together. Watching almost every one there sing, it was, like, I was in a concert. Watching her sing and move her head for every drum beat like that, was just too good a feeling. (No, not in a stalker-kind of a way). I don't know what it was that I felt for her that night. May be it was nothing... or may be.. Well, the point is. She, along with her friends, brought life to the whole place.. (uh, with a lot of help from The Cranberries themselves :P). And she brought a smile on my face with her adorable 'head movements'. And just like that, etched this song in my memory forever. I had listened to this one many times before. But I had nothing to picture in my mind when it played, you know. But ever since, I think I have something to picture this song with. :)

Well, that was three years ago. I was listening to my playlist while surfing the internet just now as an attempt to keep myself awake for tomorrow. And this song happened to play next on the playlist. It immediately reminded me of her and that in turn made me come here to this-side-of-my-world... to write about her. So, dear reader, I think all of us should be like that - Carefree, smiling and confident in being ourselves. And the world will sing along for your tunes. And who knows, just because you smiled and were yourself, a lonely, creepy dude could be somewhere, writing about your adorable smile and "head movements", three years later at 4am in the morning. ;)

I just hope this boring lil story of mine was less creepy... and perhaps a little adorable?! No?!

Ah, there it is! - Another great song just started. It is not a song... it is, actually, 'my life in 4 minutes 50 seconds' - The Art Company - Suzanna

Now, I will leave you to get back to your lovely life, my sweet reader. And oh, I almost forgot - This one is dedicated to one of my followers - My first one actually, Cameron James. (Cameron James? Man, I still doubt if it is some a-hole friend of mine with a fake account trying to pull my leg. I just hope not.). Anyway, Cameron, you have a great taste! Take care.

See you on the other side,
K
